I've been thinking about the work I do with relationships lately, and it's amazing how much of our relationships with our parents mirror those with a significant other.

What makes you "flinch?" What has you reacting instead of responding?

If you look back in your personal history, you are likely to find similar reactions with one or both parents.

Many experts suggest we unconsciously:

▶ Seek what’s familiar, even if it was painful.

▶ Try to heal past wounds by “getting it right” this time.
