Hi, I'm Paul Strobl.

Master Certified Coach, MBA, and recovering high-achiever from Houston, living and working from the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria along the Greek border.

A family tragedy forced me into reinvention at 31 — earlier than most. I've spent two decades and over a thousand coaching engagements helping executives and entrepreneurs navigate exactly this terrain:

the gap between what you've built and what actually feels meaningful now.

I work with a small number of clients internationally.

If you're ready to have the conversation, I'd like to meet you.

Coaching Reviews

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My companies had scaled, and we moved to a new neighborhood for better schools for our kids. On paper, it felt like I should have "made it," but instead, I felt less connected, less rooted, and strangely out of place.

When I reached out to Paul, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking for. I just knew something felt off.

Working with him was refreshing, not only because he understood where I was (he's a tremendously patient listener), but because of how quickly we got to clarity. Not perfect clarity, but enough to see a direction and know what to work on next. That alone felt like a huge load off.

I had spent decades building the business and was always focused on the next benchmark — more revenue, more growth, a bigger operation.

I kept telling myself I was doing all of this so that someday I could relax and enjoy what I had built. But every time I reached one benchmark, I created another.

At one point Paul asked me what I planned to do after I exited the business. I told him what I pictured: more time, more travel, get in better shape, pick up the guitar that's been gathering dust. He followed with a simple question: “What keeps you from doing that now?”

I didn’t have a good answer.

That was a huge realization. I could see that I was recreating the same stressful life I had supposedly built the business to escape. I stopped thinking only about how to make the business bigger and started thinking much more seriously about what I wanted the business (and my life) to actually look like.

From the outside, things were going well. I had built a successful career and was used to figuring things out on my own.

I had reached a point where I was circling the same questions and couldn’t see my way through them. I was also leaning on my wife to help me process all of it, and I knew that wasn’t fair to her.

I took way to long to reach out due to my own issues with asking for help, but when I finally did, working with Paul helped me separate what I actually wanted from what I thought I was supposed to want.

I started making decisions based on what was true for me and what matters to the people around me, rather than staying stuck, as Paul says, "in the 'shoulds'".

 Evidence-Based. Period.

This is not therapy. It's not crystals and vision boards either.

Evidence-based coaching works from the present forward — for people who are already functional and successful, but who can't quite see what's next or why what they have isn't enough.

You're likely in one of two places: you know where you want to be but can't find traction, or you don't know what's next but you're certain it's not this.

Either way, the work is strategic, rigorous, and grounded in research — not intuition and incense.

Which Sounds Like You?

Second-Half / Meaning-Focused

You built the thing. You won the thing. And somewhere in there, winning stopped feeling like winning.

You're not in a crisis. Your marriage is solid, the bank account is fine, nobody's worried about you.

But you've started asking questions you didn't used to have time for, and you're noticing the old answers don't hold up anymore.

CEO Isolation / Thinking Partner Focused

You're still running the company, and you're good at it. But there's nobody left you can think out loud with.

Your board wants decisions, not doubts. Your team wants confidence, not questions.

You need someone (other than your spouse!) who isn't inside your org chart and isn't trying to sell you a framework.

Frequently Asked Questions About Coaching

What kinds of issues do clients typically bring to you?

Rarely something with a clean label.

It's usually more of a feeling. A quiet restlessness that's hard to name, and a sense that the life you've built doesn't quite fit anymore even though it looks right from the outside.

You've hit the goals. You've done the things. And yet...

Sometimes it's a major crossroads:  career, relationship, identity, a needed change in geography. Sometimes it's nothing that dramatic, just a persistent whisper that something needs to change and you can't quite locate what.

What my clients have in common isn't a specific problem. It's a specific moment — the one where achievement stops being enough of an answer.

What can I expect during my Second Half Strategy Session?

The best way to answer this is to let you see for yourself.

I put together a short video that walks you through exactly what our first conversation looks like — no sales pitch, just an honest preview of the work.

What is Modern Coaching?

Modern coaching isn't advice-giving or therapy. It's a structured conversation designed to surface what you already know but haven't been able to see clearly — your blind spots, your values, the gap between where you are and where you actually want to be.

A great coaching engagement doesn't add more to your plate. It removes what's been quietly weighing on it. Clients leave with sharper focus, renewed confidence, and a set of tools they'll use long after our work together ends.

Who is this for?

This is for successful founders and senior executives who have built something real, and are now asking harder questions than the ones that got them there.

If you're still in survival mode financially, this probably isn't the right fit.

If you've cleared that hurdle and something still feels unfinished, it is.

How confidential is this?

Completely. What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions — full stop. I don't record, I don't share, and I don't discuss clients with anyone.

I sometimes describe it this way: the two of us are in a bomb shelter. Nothing that happens in there sees the light of day. Ever.

The only exception is the standard legal one: if I believe someone is in imminent danger. In 20+ years, that exception has never been relevant.

What you tell me stays with me.
