It’s difficult to acheive happiness if you’re only listening to what society tells you. Let go of these “shoulds” and move toward more of what you want and breathe easier.
[VIDEO TRANSCRIPT]:
This is the lie that almost everybody has bought into: Get the stuff! Get married, have kids, put them in the best schools, get the big house, and drive the nice car…
“and my apartment smells of rich mahogany”
…and THEN you will be happy.
“What do we have left once we abandon the lie?”
The Truth About Happiness
Do you want to know the truth?
“You can’t handle the truth!”
The truth is, that you’re not going to be happy when whatever happens.
The Façade
Many people I work with have lives that look perfect on the outside; they look perfect on social media…
“Everything is Awesome!”
…but on the inside, they’re simply not there yet. They’ve worked really really hard to get where they are, but every time they get to a certain level, it’s a mirage.
“I wish I could let you just live in your fantasy world.”
Your Happiness Goals are a Mirage
Every time they think they’ve arrived, their goal seems further and further in the distance.
So you may be saying to yourself “Wow, that’s me. What the heck can I do about it?” “What CAN I do?”
Get Uncomfortable
Here’s the thing: most people are unwilling to make the uncomfortable changes that will really have them living the life they want
that’s happy and more fulfilled. But some people do.
“So you’re telling me there’s a chance…”
Find a Life Coach
Find a coach–find somebody that you really connect with…
“Okay, let’s talk”
…who isn’t afraid to ask you the difficult questions you need to be asked.
“Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?”
